Phone cards that work from AT&T tents on U.S. military bases worldwide including Iraq

Does ZapTel sell phone cards that can be used from AT&T tents on U.S. military bases?

We're excited to announce that ZapTel now carries AT&T Prepaid Phone Cards that not only offer a great value and quality or calling, but also work from the AT&T tents set up on U.S. military bases, even in Iraq.

AT&T Prepaid Phone Card

Intrastate rates are only 5¢ per minute. We carry the AT&T Prepaid Phone Card in denominations of $6.25 which will give you 125 interstate minutes and $59.99 which will give you 1200 interstate minutes. Please note that due to intrastate regulations, when making a call within a single state, the rate per minute will vary per minute from the stated USA rate. (Calls beyond the state line or to other countries are not affected by this regulation.)

What's great about purchasing one of these cards from ZapTel is that you have three ways to get the card to your loved one:

  1. Forward the e-mail confirmation with the PIN information.
  2. Send the phone card as a gift through your ZapTel dashboard.
  3. Use ZapTel's Print-n-Go feature to print out the details and send it with your next care package.

I've also had some family members tell me that their military family member has a cell phone based in Iraq to use for calling. If this is your situation, it's best to check with the mobile provider first to see if phone cards are blocked from the mobile phone. Or, you can dial the access number from the card to see if it will work. If you're prompted for a PIN, then the card should work for you. Keep in mind, though, that minutes will be deducted from the mobile phone plan to connect to the phone card, but the international fees will come off the balance of the card.

The only card we carry that works from an Iraqi based phone line is the Absolute Global card. A $25 card will give you about 56 minutes from Iraq to the U.S. The Absolute Global is supported by MCI and will not work from the AT&T tents that many military personnel have access to.

If your family or friend is located on a military base where they have access to a phone with a U.S. dial tone other than the AT&T tents described above, any one of ZapTel's phone cards will work for their calling needs. All they have to use is the U.S. toll free access number and the card will bill at the U.S. originating rate per minute.
