Using Phone Cards for In State Calling

In 2007, the FCC mandated that phone card carriers need to pay a surcharge for calls that are made within the state that the call is originated. Because of this, the rate per minute to make a call with a phone card within one’s state is higher than making phone calls outside of the state. (more…)

What to Know Before Using a Phone Card from a Mobile Phone

The best piece of advice I can give you about using a phone card from a mobile phone is to not press send again afte you dial the access number for your phone card. Doing so can disconnect your phone card and can, if you don’t have it disabled, place your international call directly from your mobile provider.

Buying Phone Cards for Deployed Soldiers

I recent article I read about making care packages for deployed soldiers made the suggestion of including a phone card. “That’s great!” I thought, but then I realized that the article didn’t mention that not just any phone card will work for the soldiers. I thought it would be a good idea to address this to make sure that customers purchased the right phone card so the service men and women they’re supporting are able to call home with no trouble.
