Updates made to some ZapTel phone cards

August 2nd, 2009

“I have a True North phone card and it’s working a little differently than I remember.  Why is this?”

As of July 27, 2009, the carrier for a set of ZapTel’s phone cards made some upgrades to their phone card network, and if you use one of the following cards,  you may have noticed the change:

The biggest change you may notice is that you need to dial a 1 before the area code and phone number when dialing to a phone number in the USA.    So  if you’re using one of the cards listed above and you’re dialing to a a phone number in the USA, please dial like this:

1 + Area Code + Number

For example, if you were going to call ZapTel’s corporate phone number, you would dial it like this:

1 + 847 + 342 + 2000

Other parts of the upgrade to the carrier’s network shouldn’t have any affect on using your phone card, but if you experience trouble, contact the carrier’s technical support.  If you’re still not getting the help you feel you should  be getting, let us know at support@zaptel.com.
